    Application Process for MBBS Admission Maharashtra

    The Commissioner, State CET CELL, Mumbai will conduct the admission process for all the Health Science courses in the State of Maharashtra. Online applications will be invited from eligible candidate(s) for admission to all Government/Corporation, Private & Minority Colleges. Online application form will be made available on website www.mahacet.org.

    1. Admission processing Fee: Cost of online application form of NEET-UG 2023 is Rs. 1000/- for MBBS course of State quota, Rs 5000/- for Institutional quota of MBBS course only, and Rs. 6000/- for both quota of MBBS course only. This application fee is not refundable. It is sole responsibility of candidate to ascertain eligibility and also online payment of fees with in prescribed period, failing which online application will be rejected. 
    2. The provisional State merit list for seats under State quota in Government / Corporation, Government Aided and all the quota seats in Private/ Minority colleges will be published on the website of State CET CELL as per constitutional and / or specified reservation claimed by candidate(s). The list of applicants will be prepared on the basis of information submitted by candidate(s) through online process made available on website www.mahacet.org. 
    3. The provisional state merit list will be prepared on the basis of the information filled in the registration form and the documents uploaded by the Candidate. The verification of Original Documents shall be done by the admitting college authorities in which the candidate submits her/his documents for admission.
    4. During online process, there will be choice for opting Institutional quota seats (15%) for MBBS course at Unaided Private / Minority colleges.
    5. The admission process fee (non-refundable) for Institutional quota seats of MBBS will be Rs. 5000/-.
    6. Admission will be on the basis of NEET UG 2023 rank and on All India basis including NRI, OMS & OCI.

    • General Category : Refers to seats allotted to candidates who do not belong to any special category (i.e Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Eminent Sports Persons, Children of Exservice Men or Special Preferential 7.5% Reservation to Government School Students)
    • Special category : Refers to seats allotted to candidates who belong to any one of the special categories (i.e Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Eminent Sports Persons, Children of Exservice Men or Special Preferential 7.5% Reservation to Government School Students)
    • Government Quota (GQ) : Refers to seats alloted by the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee under Government Quota. This includes seats in all Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges and a proportion of seats in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges & (50% or more) under Government Quota.
    • Management Quota (MQ) : Refers to proportion of seats in Self Financing Medical/Dental Colleges & which are under Management Quota (35% or Less). These seats will have a higher fee structure compared to GQ seats.
    • NRI Quota : Refers to proportion of seats in Self Financing Medical/Dental Colleges & which are reserved for NRI candidates (15% of SF college seats).
      PWD quota : Refers to seats reserved for Persons with benchmark Disability (5% of seats in all instituitions). Candidates should have submitted PWD certificate obtained from the regional Medical Board, RGGGH, Chennai-03.
    • Ex-Servicemen Quota :Refers to the Seats Reserved for the Children of ExServicemen in Government Medical/Dental College
      (M.B.B.S. – 10 & B.D.S. – 1) as explained in Clause 14.2.
    • Sports Quota : Refers to Seats Reserved for Eminent Sports Person in Government Medical/Dental College (M.B.B.S – 7 and B.D.S.- 1)as explained in Clause 14.3.
      7.5% Special Preferential Quota : Refers to 7.5% of seats in the admission to M.B.B.S/BDS which are reserved on preferential basis to students, who have completed their scholling from VI to XII in State Government schools and qualified NEET-UG 2023.

    1. Within the 30% reservation for Backward Classes, 3.5% will be provided for Muslims.
    2. 16% of seats out of the 18% quota earmarked to Scheduled Caste shall be allocated to the Arunthathiyar Community as per Tamil Nadu Act No.4 of 2009 dated 12.03.2009.
    3. Reservation applicable at the time of counselling will be followed. BC, BCM, MBC / DNC, SC, SCA, and ST candidates are eligible for selection under Open Competition as per rank in addition to the reservation made for those categories.
      • Any remaining unfilled seats for want of adequate number of eligible candidates belonging to SCA community shall be filled by candidates belonging to SC community other than Arunthathiyar as per merit and vice versa. (GO (Ms) 55 P & AR Department, Dated:08.04.2010)
      • Any remaining reserved seats in ST Quota for want of adequate number of eligible candidates belonging to ST community shall be allotted to candidates belonging to SC Community as per merit. (GO (Ms) No.77 Health & Family Welfare Department (MCA1) Dated 24.02.2011).
      • Any remaining unfilled seats in BCM Community for want of adequate number of eligible candidates after exhausting the merit list shall be filled up on merit basis by candidates belonging to BC community without exceeding the quota for BC community as a whole (G.O.Ms.No.30/H&FW Dept(MCA1) Dated 18.01.2012)
      • Even after filling up of the required seats reserved for Arunthathiyars on preferential basis, if more number of qualified Arunthathiyars are available, such excess number of candidates of Arunthathiyars shall be entitled to compete with the Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars in the inter-se merit among them (As per G.O.Ms.No.65, P & AR (K) Department, Dated:27.07.2009.
