Haryana NRI Quota MBBS Admission

Haryana is another major state for NRI admission in MBBS in Haryana’s government medical colleges and private medical colleges. There are a good number of MBBS seats reserved in Haryana government medical colleges, private medical colleges, and private universities offering MBBS programs.

NRIs/children of NRIs who belong to the state of Haryana, NRIs/children of NRIs who belong to an Indian state other than Haryana, and NRI-sponsored students are all eligible for MBBS admission in Haryana under the NRI quota.

Here are some important points about MBBS seats under the NRI quota in Haryana:

  • 15% of the management seats are reserved for the NRI quota.
  • A non-refundable registration and counseling fee of Rs. 10,000 will be charged from NRI students.
  • The preference for admission under the NRI category will be as follows:
    • Actual NRIs/OCIs/PIOs who originally belonged to the state of Haryana.
    • Children of NRIs/OCIs/PIOs who originally belonged to Haryana state.
    • Actual NRIs/OCIs/PIOs who originally belonged to an Indian state or union territory other than Haryana.
    • Children of NRIs/OCIs/PIOs who originally belonged to an Indian state or union territory other than Haryana.

If the first-degree relative of the student is an NRI and resides abroad, and the candidate meets the following conditions:

  • They must be the nearest relative.
  • In the definition of nearest relative, the candidate must have the following blood relationships:
    • Real brother and sister of the father, i.e. real uncle and aunt.
    • Real brother and sister of the mother, i.e. real maternal uncle and maternal aunt.
    • Father and mother of the father, i.e. grandparents.
    • Father and mother of the mother, i.e. maternal grandparents.
    • First-degree paternal and maternal cousins.
  • The NRI must be a resident of another country.
  • The NRI must have acted as the guardian of the student and must have provided evidence to support this claim.
Fee Structure for NRI Students in Haryana:
Government Medical Colleges USD 1,25,000 for entire course
Private Medical Colleges affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University, Rohtak USD 1,10,000 for entire course
Private Universities:
SGT USD 40,275 per annum

Note:- The NRI students will have to give a Bank Guarantee/Surety Bond for the balance of fee, if they opt to pay the fee in instalment as provided.

  • Cut off in Government Medical Colleges under NRI Quota in Haryana – The cut-off for NRI quota seats in government medical colleges in Haryana varies depending on the preferences of the applicants. In general, the seats in government medical colleges under the NRI quota are filled up to preference (iv) and preference (v). This means that only students who are sponsored by an NRI have a chance of getting a seat in a private medical college under the NRI quota.
  • Cut off in Private Medical Colleges under NRI Quota in Haryana – There is low demand for NRI quota seats in private medical colleges in Haryana. As a result, students with qualifying scores can be admitted to these seats, provided they meet the NRI criteria.
