(2) Syllabus of the Test
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially notified the syllabus for NEET (UG) 2026. (3) Pattern of the Test
The NEET (UG) 2026 examination will cover Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Candidates are informed that, starting from NEET (UG) 2026, the examination pattern will revert to the pre-COVID format. The question paper will consist of 180 compulsory questions to be attempted within a duration of 180 minutes. These revisions have been officially incorporated into the NEET (UG) 2026 test pattern.
The pattern for the NEET (UG) – 2026 examination for admission in the Session 2026-27 is as follows:

Important Points to Note:
To answer each question, candidates must select the one option that represents the correct or most appropriate answer. Evaluation will be carried out according to the following scheme:
(i) Correct or most appropriate answer: +4 marks
(ii) Incorrect option selected: –1 mark
(iii) Question left unanswered: 0 mark
(4) Mode of Examination
Candidates are hereby informed that NEET (UG) – 2025 will be Single day single exam in PEN and PAPER mode as was conducted in last year 2025.
(5) Medium of the Question Papers
Candidates can opt for a Question Paper in any one of the following 13 languages:

(6) Eligibility and Qualifications for MBBS and BDS Course
Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG), as per related Regulations of NMC and DCI are as follows: The candidate must be 17 years old at the time of admission or must turn 17 on or before 31 December of the admission year for the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course. Therefore, the minimum age requirement is as follows:

Upper age limit: As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 09 March 2022 received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age limit.
Criteria for NRI / OCI / Foreign Nationals: Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for NRI admission to Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges in accordance with the rules and regulations laid down by the respective State Governments, concerned institutions, and the Government of India, as applicable.
Applicants under the NRI and OCI categories are required to upload a certificate issued by the concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in the country of their residence as proof of their NRI/OCI status while submitting the online NEET (UG) 2026 application form. The original certificate must be retained and produced at the time of counselling and/or admission to courses covered under NEET.
Similarly, foreign applicants applying for NEET (UG) 2026 must upload valid documentary evidence of their nationality, such as relevant pages of a valid passport or a certificate issued by the competent authority of their country of nationality, along with the online application form.
(7) Reservation Policy for Admission to MBBS and BDS Course
Admission of Indian nationals under reserved categories shall be governed by the rules laid down by the Government of India. The applicable categories and the extent of reservation are detailed below:
For Candidates claiming the GEN-EWS category: Candidates should possess a valid GEN-EWS certificate issued as per Government of India guidelines for availing reservation under the GEN-EWS category. (10% of seats in every course)
For Candidates claiming the OBC-NCL category: The candidate must hold a valid OBC-NCL certificate in accordance with the latest Government of India guidelines to be eligible for reservation under the OBC-NCL category. For updated guidelines and the Central List of State-wise OBCs (27% of seats in every course)
For Candidates claiming the SC or ST category: Candidate should possess valid SC/ST certificate in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India for claiming seats under SC/ST category. (15% OR 7.5% of seats in every course)
Persons with Disability (PwBD) – 5% seats in each of GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST category seats.
(8) Application Form:
Using the system-generated Application Number and password, candidates can log in to complete their application form. This involves filling in personal details, selecting the exam medium and preferred exam cities, providing educational details, and uploading required documents or images.
(1) The recent photograph should be in color with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
(2) All uploaded images should be in PDF/JPG/JPEG format.
(3) The size of the scanned passport size photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
(4) The size of the scanned postcard size photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
(5) The size of scanned Left and Right Hand Fingers and Thumb impressions should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
(6) The size of the scanned signature should be between 10 kb to 50 kb.
(7) The size of the scanned Category Certificate should be between 50 kb to 300 kb.
(8) The size of the scanned Class X Certificate should be between 50 kb to 300 kb.
(9) The size of the scanned Present Address and Permanent Address Proof Document should be between 50 kb to 300 kb.
(10) The size of the scanned NRI/ OCI/ Foreigner Certificate/ Documentary Proof should be between 50 kb to 300 kb, wherever applicable.
(11) The size of the scanned copy of the PwD/PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card with both side in same pdf should be between 50 kb to 300 kb, wherever applicable.
(12) The size of the scanned copy of the Medical Certificate issued by 5 doctor bench should be between 50 kb to 300 kb, wherever applicable.2026
(13) The size of the scanned copy of the Medical Certificate issued by 2 doctor bench should be between 50 kb to 300 kb, wherever applicable.
(14) The size of the scanned photograph of scribe should be between 10 kb to 200 kb, wherever applicable.
(15) The size of the scanned signature of scribe should be between 10 kb to 50 kb, wherever applicable,
(16) The size of the scanned qualification certificate of scribe should be between 50 kb to 300 kb, wherever applicable.
(17) The size of the scanned undertaking for using your own scribe should be between 50 kb to 300 kb, wherever applicable.
(18) The size of the scanned Identity Proof should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
(9) Check List for filling the Online Application Form
The candidates are advised to ensure the following points before submitting the Online Application Forms:
- Whether they fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions for the Test
- That they have selected their gender viz. Male/Female/Third Gender correctly.
- That they have selected their category viz General/General-EWS/OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST correctly.
- That the Person with Benchmark Disability candidate has filled the relevant column in the Online Application Form correctly.
- Whether they have kept a Printout of Application Form (Confirmation Page) for their own record.
